[22/ April/2025]
Baydha - Saba:

The Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit of the Ministry of Local and Rural Administration and Development and the General Authority for Rural Water Projects branch in Baydha Governorate handed over the Rabat Water Project in Dhi Na'im District to the beneficiaries.

The project included the supply and installation of a solar-powered pumping unit and pipes of various diameters, and the construction of a concrete tank at a cost of 61 million riyals, funded by the Central Interventions Unit.

During the handover, attended by the Director of the District, Murad Al-Riyami, the Director of the Rural Water Projects Authority branch in Baydha, Engineer Hassan Al-Kahali, emphasized the Interventions Unit's commitment to supporting water projects in the governorate. It has funded many projects in the most deprived areas, including this project, with the aim of providing drinking water to residents of the area, which suffers from a shortage of drinking water supplies.

For their part, Mohammed Nashwan, the representative of the Central Interventions Unit in Dhamar and Baydha Governorates, and Engineer Najmuddin Faisal, the Director of the Water and Energy Department at the unit, emphasized that the unit's leadership prioritizes projects that serve deprived areas.

They explained that the project will provide drinking water to more than 5,640 people in the beneficiary area at a low cost, as the solar-powered pumping unit will be an alternative to diesel, thus reducing the burden on citizens.

The handover ceremony was attended by the Director of Evaluation at the Rural Water Authority, Engineer Mohammed Muqbil, the Deputy Director of the Supervision Department at the Authority, Engineer Nabil Al-Mikhlafi, and representatives of the beneficiaries.
