Harvard University has filed a lawsuit seeking to declare the Trump administration's budget cuts illegal.
According to a document released Tuesday, the university "filed a lawsuit seeking to declare the Trump administration's budget cuts and the requirements for 'supervision' of international students illegal."
The lawsuit states that "the defendants' actions threaten Harvard's academic independence and jeopardize the vital, life-saving, and groundbreaking research conducted there. They are part of the government's attempt to punish Harvard for protecting its constitutional rights."
