Work Progress discussed at Ibb Branch of Water Resources Authority

A meeting chaired by Engineer Hadi Quraya, Chairman of the General Authority for Water Resources and Facilities, was held on Tuesday in Ibb province to discuss the progress of work at the Authority’s branch in the province and the efforts made in managing and preserving water resources.

The meeting, attended by the Director of the Authority’s branch in the province, Mohammed Al-Warafi, and branch staff, reviewed the administrative, field, and technical performance levels, the challenges facing operations, and ways to enhance oversight and curb illegal drilling activities to protect groundwater.

The branch director presented a report on the Authority’s activities, measures to control illegal drilling, improvements in monitoring mechanisms, and community awareness efforts on the importance of conserving water resources.

During the meeting, the Chairman of the Water Resources and Facilities Authority emphasized the need to intensify awareness campaigns and strengthen oversight to reduce excessive water depletion.

He noted the positive results achieved in controlling illegal drilling operations and stressed the importance of protecting the Ibb water basin and other basins in the province, as well as taking necessary measures to ensure the sustainability of water resources.

Additionally, Engineer Quraya reviewed the workflow in the branch’s departments and sections, listening to explanations from department heads and staff about their tasks, challenges, and proposed solutions.

The Chairman praised the efforts of the technical and administrative staff at the branch and their role in carrying out their assigned duties.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Authority’s branch in the province expressed his appreciation for the Chairman’s follow-up on the branch’s work and activities, his keenness to address challenges faced by field and administrative teams, and his efforts to find solutions that enhance performance.
