Russian security services announced that they had thwarted a terrorist attack on a petrochemical plant in Nizhny Novgorod Province, planned by two Central Asians on the instructions of Kyiv's intelligence services.
A statement from the Russian Federal Security Service read: "Two Central Asians, on the orders and instructions of Kyiv's intelligence services, planned to launch a terrorist attack on a petrochemical plant in Nizhny Novgorod Province using suicide drones. The two militants opened fire when surrounded by security forces, leading to their immediate neutralization."
The statement added that "correspondence with the Ukrainian side was found on the militants' phones, containing instructions on how to carry out the terrorist attack. Two explosive drones prepared for the attack, along with weapons and ammunition, were also found."
