Batticaloa - SABA:
A student delegation from the "Hameed Academy for Quran Education"* in Batticaloa Province, Sri Lanka, expressed its profound solidarity with Palestinian children suffering under the brutal Zionist aggression in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including occupied Quds.
The Palestinian Safa News Agency reported on Thursday that the delegation included 60 male and female primary school students, led by the academy's principal, Ihsan Al-Sayed. The children, accompanied by their mentors, traveled more than five hours to reach the Palestinian Embassy in the Sri Lankan capital.
They carried with them a message of love and support, along with a financial donation of 300,000 Sri Lankan rupees (approximately $1,000) collected to aid Palestinian children, who have been facing the most horrific crimes since October 2023.
The students raised the Palestinian flag and chanted slogans condemning the Israeli occupation and calling for an end to the massacres against the children of Gaza. The embassy officials praised this humanitarian initiative, which reflects the awareness and solidarity of Sri Lankan youth with the just Palestinian cause.
This event comes as part of a series of solidarity activities with Palestine taking place in various Asian countries, where students and civil society organizations continue to organize campaigns to support the Palestinian people morally and materially.
