The Government Media Office in Gaza has warned of a coordinated and systematic campaign led by suspicious and anonymous pages on social media, aimed at spreading rumors, lies, and misinformation, in an attempt to undermine the morale of the Palestinian people and sow frustration among them.
The office said in a statement on Friday that these pages are merely part of the black propaganda pursued by Israeli intelligence agencies, in a desperate and failed attempt to destroy the morale of our Palestinian people and dismantle the cohesion of Palestinian society.
The office warned that these anonymous groups and accounts, backed by the Israeli occupation forces and their collaborators, seek to promote lies and malicious fabrications, with the primary goal of undermining the resolve of our Palestinian people and driving them to despair. These campaigns are not based on any reliable facts or sources, but rather employ methods of misinformation and confusion to attempt to influence Palestinian public opinion by spreading rumors and fabricated news.
The office stressed the need to exercise extreme caution and not believe the fabricated narratives promoted by these pages and their followers. The dissemination of lies and rumors is merely a tool of psychological warfare through which the occupation and its followers attempt to weaken the steadfastness of our great Palestinian people and our valiant resistance.
The office emphasized that all available information indicates that these pages have one goal: to spread chaos, encourage anarchy, and sow discord and frustration among the ranks of the heroic Palestinian people.
While urging the Palestinian people to remain vigilant and not be drawn into these lies, it also called for full awareness, ensuring the accuracy of information from official and reliable sources, and not responding to those who promote discord and fragmentation.
He also stressed that the occupation, its intelligence agencies, and their collaborators will not succeed in achieving their cheap goals, and will not be able to break the resolve of the Palestinian people or disrupt their just struggle.
