The Israeli army admitted on Thursday that a tank commander from Battalion 79 was killed in battles in the northern Gaza Strip, in addition to a senior officer and a soldier being seriously wounded.
According to the "Times of Israel" website, the fallen soldier was hit by sniper fire from a Palestinian fighter in Beit Hanoun, near a military post in the buffer zone.
The army confirmed that the soldier’s family had been notified, though his name has not yet been cleared for publication.
