New York - (Saba):
The UN Legal Adviser stressed on Monday that Israel must abide by international law by facilitating the work of UN agencies and protecting medical facilities.
The Adviser said, according to the Palestine Today News Agency, that Israel must respect the provision of humanitarian supplies in the Palestinian territories, and that international law requires Israel to submit relief plans during displacement operations.
She added that the occupying authorities must respect the work of humanitarian organizations, and that relief workers in Palestine must enjoy immunity and international protection.
The enemy has tightened its stifling blockade of the Gaza Strip since the beginning of last March, which has exacerbated the humanitarian and health conditions of citizens, especially children, women, and the elderly. Since October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have launched an offensive on the Gaza Strip, killing 52,243 civilians, the majority of whom are children and women, and wounding 117,639 others.
This is a preliminary toll, with a number of victims still buried under the rubble and on the streets, unable to be reached by ambulances and rescue teams.
