Meteorology Expects scattered, variable rainfall across several governorates

Sana'a - Saba:

The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expects scattered and variable rainfall across parts of several governorates, along with active winds that will cause rough seas over the next 24 hours.

According to the center's weather bulletin, thunderstorms of varying intensity are expected across parts of the governorates of Taiz, Ibb, Dhale'a, Bayda, the highlands of Lahj, Abyan, Shabwa.

Scattered rainfall is also likely across parts of the governorates of Dhamar, Raymah, Sana'a, Mahwit, Hajjah, Amran, Saada, as well as parts of the eastern coasts and adjacent areas.

According to the center, active to strong winds are expected to blow around the Socotra Archipelago, in the Gulf of Aden, and along the eastern and southern coasts.

Rainfall over the past 24 hours, measured at meteorological stations in As-Saddah, Ibb, reached 12 mm, and Tor Al-Baha, Lahj, reached 1 mm. Scattered rainfall of varying intensity also fell on parts of the governorates of Abyan, Taiz, Dhale'a, Ibb, Dhamar, Sana'a, and Saada.

The center warned citizens against staying in or crossing floodwaters during and after rainfall, and against crossing over land bridges during flash floods. It urged them to take shelter from thunderstorms.

It also warned seafarers, fishermen, and ship captains of rough seas and high waves around the Socotra Archipelago, the eastern Gulf of Aden, and the eastern and southern coasts.
