London – Saba:
Tottenham Hotspur announced on Tuesday the signing of Japanese defender Kota Takai from Kawasaki Frontale on a five-year contract.
In a statement, the club confirmed that the 20-year-old has signed a five-year deal, marking Tottenham’s second signing of the summer transfer window after securing French striker Mathys Tel on a permanent move from Bayern Munich, following his six-month loan spell.
Takai has earned four international caps with Japan’s senior national team, making his debut in a World Cup qualifier against China last September. He played a key role in Kawasaki Frontale’s victory in the 2024 Japanese Super Cup and was named Young Player of the Year that same season.
