Sana'a - Saba:
A workshop began today in Sana'a to review and approve the Good Parenting Program Guide for the 1,000 Days of a Child's Life. The workshop is organized by the Ministry of Health and Environment, represented by the National Program for Health Education and Media, with funding from UNICEF.
The two-day workshop, attended by 40 health education directors from the governorates and relevant departments within the ministry, addresses the principles that volunteers should consider when delivering messages, basic information on good parenting from a Quranic perspective, and how to use the guide and develop the efforts of community volunteers.
At the opening ceremony, Director General of the National Program for Health Education and Media, Yousef Al-Hadhri, emphasized the importance of the workshop in discussing the Good Parenting Program Guide for the 1,000 Days of a Fetus and Child's Life and enriching it within the framework of the Quranic perspective.
He pointed out that the guide includes a number of measures related to maternal health during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care, including the importance of seeing a doctor, safe childbirth, breastfeeding, maternal and child nutrition, and providing health care. It also addresses how to deal with diseases and epidemics and provide healthy psychological upbringing for newborns.
The opening was attended by a number of Ministry of Health officials and representatives from UNICEF.
