Ankara - Saba:
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced on Tuesday that Ankara had conveyed to Iran the US position on the possibility of resuming negotiations regarding the Iranian nuclear program.
In statements to reporters, according to the Russian news agency Sputnik, Fidan said, "At the moment, there is a state of uncertainty and several positions are being proposed."
The Turkish minister continued: "Just four days ago, I held talks with the US President's Special Envoy, (Steve) Witkoff. The US side has several positions on this issue (resuming negotiations), and we were able to convey them to the Iranian side, both during the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) summit in Stepanakert and on the sidelines of the BRICS summit."
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei denied last Saturday "the circulating news about an imminent date for negotiations with the United States."
Baghaei noted that "public opinion is currently so angry that no one even dares to talk about negotiations and diplomacy." He stressed the "necessity of condemning the aggressor, Israel, and holding it accountable and punishing it for its crime of bombing Evin Prison during the aggression," emphasizing that "79 people lost their lives as a result of Israel's brutal war crime of bombing the prison."
