Meteorology Expects Rain, Sea Rage in Coming Hours

Sana'a - Saba:

The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast scattered rainfall of varying intensity across several governorates, and sea turbulence due to strong winds over the next 24 hours.

According to the center's weather bulletin, varying intensity rainfall, sometimes accompanied by thunder, is expected across parts of the governorates of Taiz, Ibb, Dhale'a, Raymah, Dhamar, Mahwit, Sana'a, Amran, Hajjah, Saada, and the highlands of Lahj, Abyan, and Shabwah.

Scattered rain, possibly accompanied by thunder, is also likely across parts of the Tihama Plain, the western coast, Jawf, Al Bayda, and the highlands of Hadhramaut and Mahrah.

Winds are also expected to be strong to very strong over the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, the southern and eastern coasts.

The rainfall measured at meteorological stations in Al Bayda over the past 24 hours was 16.5 mm, Qa'a Al-Bun-Amran: 14.6 mm, Hajjah: 13 mm, Ibb: 8.2 mm, Mahwit: 2.2 mm, Raymah: 1.2 mm.

Scattered rains fell on some areas of the governorates of Taiz, Ad Dhale', southern Hodeida, Dhamar, Sana'a, Saada, Lahj, Abyan, Shabwah, Hadhramaut, and Mahrah, but were outside the stations.

The center warned citizens of thunderstorms and of being in or crossing floodwaters during and after the rainfall.

It also warned citizens in the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, and the southern and eastern coasts, especially seagoers, fishermen, and ship captains, of high waves and rough seas.
