Magnitude 4.6 earthquake strikes Semnan province east of Tehran for 2nd time in four days

Tehran – Saba:

A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck the village of Amiriyeh in Shahroud City, located in Iran’s Semnan Province east of Tehran, on Friday morning—marking the second such tremor in the area within four days.

According to Iran’s Mehr News Agency, the Seismological Center of the University of Tehran reported that the earthquake occurred at 08:16 a.m. local time at a depth of 10 kilometers.

The epicenter was pinpointed at latitude 36.54 and longitude 54.84 in Amiriyeh village, Shahroud City, Semnan Province.

This follows a previous 4.7-magnitude quake that hit the same village on Tuesday, highlighting growing seismic activity in the region.
