The Central Bank of Yemen issued on Monday Governor’s Decision No. (2) of 1447 AH regarding the prohibition of defacing second-issue 200 Riyal banknotes.
The decision prohibits the defacement of second-issue 200 Riyal banknotes through writing, drawing, engraving, stamping, perforation, or size reduction, considering defaced banknotes null and void and unfit for circulation.
The decision also prohibits all financial and non-financial institutions from circulating defaced currency.
According to the Central Bank Governor’s decision, anyone who violates this decision will be held legally accountable and subject to penalties.
