Oil Declines as Trade War Grows Concerns Over Fuel Demand
[22/ July/2025]

New York - Saba:
Oil prices fell on Tuesday as concerns mounted that the trade war between the United States and the European Union will limit fuel demand growth due to the decline in economic activity.

US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures for August delivery fell 0.89% to $66.60 a barrel.

Brent crude futures for September delivery fell 0.71% to $68.82 a barrel, according to trading data.

The European Union is considering a wide range of potential countermeasures against the United States as the chances of reaching an acceptable trade agreement with Washington diminish, according to European diplomats.

The United States has threatened to impose 30% tariffs on EU imports on August 1 if no agreement is reached.
