Haroun Nasser al-Din, member of the Political Bureau and Head of al-Quds Affairs Office in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), warned on Monday that the escalating violations in the courtyards of al-Aqsa Mosque and repeated settler incursions under the pretext of the so-called “Destruction of the Temple” anniversary represent a blatant desecration of the mosque's sanctity and a deliberate provocation of millions of Muslims around the world.
In a press statement, Nasser al-Din described the recent entry of Jewish religious symbols, the performance of Talmudic rituals, and the raising of Israeli flags inside the mosque courtyards as a dangerous escalation and an exposed plan to forcibly impose a Judaized reality, as part of the Zionist regime’s broader agenda of annexation and displacement.
He held the extremist Israeli government fully responsible for this dangerous escalation, warning of its consequences and stressing that al-Quds and al-Aqsa are at the heart of the conflict. Any violation of holy sites, he said, will ignite a new wave of confrontation.
Nasser al-Din called on the people of al-Quds, Palestinians in the occupied territories, and anyone who can reach the mosque to head to al-Aqsa and remain stationed there in defense of the first Qibla and the third holiest site in Islam.
He emphasized that standing guard against these attacks is both a religious and national duty and a powerful message of resilience against oppression and Judaization.
Nasser al-Din renewed his appeal to the Islamic and Arab nations to assume their responsibilities toward al-Aqsa Mosque and to act immediately to stop this blatant aggression, stressing that the silence of the Ummah amounts to complicity.
He urged unified efforts to put an end to the Zionist desecration of Islamic holy sites.
