Rashq: Netanyahu starves his prisoners as people in Gaza
[04/ August/2025]

Doha - Saba:

Izzat al-Rishq, a member of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), said Sunday evening that "Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the war criminal wanted by the International Criminal Court, is trying to end the prisoners' issue by starving them, after failing to reach them militarily or through bombing."

He added in a press statement that the Palestinian resistance treats its prisoners in accordance with religious teachings and human values.

Al-Rishq emphasized that they are "fed from what we eat and given water from what we drink," as is the case with all the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. He pointed out that the world had witnessed, in previous exchange deals, how enemy prisoners had escaped the grip of the resistance in good physical and psychological health, "but today, they are suffering from hunger and emaciation, just as their captors and our people in Gaza are."

Al-Rishq also emphasized that the siege imposed by Netanyahu has even affected his own prisoners, "who were not spared the yoke of brutal starvation."

He emphasized that "the images of starvation on the faces of Gaza's children, elderly, and women, before the image of soldier Eviatar David, are the crushing response to those who deny the existence of famine in Gaza.

He held the enemy government fully responsible for the suffering of the prisoners inside Gaza, saying that "the effects of war and starvation have extended to affect their prisoners as well."

Earlier, Abu Obeida, the military spokesman for the Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, said that "Qassam is prepared to deal positively and respond to any request from the Red Cross to bring food and medicine to the enemy's prisoners."
