Discussion on completing water project in Dhi Naem City, Al-Bayda
[04/ August/2025]
Bayda – Saba:
A meeting was held on Monday in the Dhi Naem district of Al-Bayda province, chaired by Governor Abdullah Idris, to discuss the completion of the water project serving the areas of Al-Munqata and Al-Ribat in Dhi Naem.

The project is being implemented at a cost of $250,000, funded by the Social Fund for Development through a grant from the British government.

The meeting, attended by the Director of Dhi Naem District, Murad Al-Rayami, and members of the local council’s administrative body, reviewed a report by Project Officer Engineer Adnan Al-Sanbani. The report covered progress on completing the main and sub-distribution networks spanning 49 kilometers, installation of a solar power system, water meters, and the rehabilitation of previously constructed water tanks by the local authorities.

Governor Idris emphasized the importance of upgrading rural water projects to serve wider population groups and maximizing the use of alternative energy sources such as solar panels instead of diesel, to reduce the cost of water for beneficiaries.

He noted that the local authority’s plan aims to expand water projects in areas previously deprived of such services due to government neglect or project implementation delays. He praised the efforts of the Social Fund for Development in supporting water initiatives targeting underserved areas, including Dhi Naem City and neighboring villages, stressing that access to water is a cornerstone for stability and development.
