A free eye care camp, the 230th of its kind, was launched on Monday at al-Sharq Rural Hospital in Jabal al-Sharq district, funded by Kuwait’s Zakat House.
Organized by al-Nibras Health Association in coordination with the Health Office, the four-day camp aims to provide consultations and perform 250 cataract removal surgeries with lens implants for underprivileged patients.
Officials praised the initiative as a humanitarian effort coinciding with the Prophet’s birth anniversary, highlighting its role in promoting social solidarity and easing patient suffering.
The Health Ministry affirmed its commitment to expanding free medical services to the neediest communities.
