Sana’a – Saba:
The third annual school championship began today in Sana’a governorate, organized by the Office of Youth and Sports and the Youth Mobilization Unit to mark the occasion of Prophet Muhammad’s birthday (1447 AH).
Held under the slogan “All Together with Gaza Until Victory,” the event features 40 school teams from the districts of Sana’a al-Jadid and Sanhan.
During the opening, Deputy Governor for Education and Youth Affairs, Talib Dahan, stressed the importance of religiously themed sports events in strengthening students’ spiritual identity while developing their physical and intellectual abilities.
He praised the role of the Youth and Sports Office in organizing such tournaments and called on youth to recognize their responsibilities—especially in light of the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
Director of Youth and Sports, Abdulmohsen Al-Sharif, explained that the tournament is being held in coordination with the education sector. The 40 teams have been divided into 10 groups, competing for the “Greatest Messenger’s Cup.”
Following the kickoff, participants held a solidarity stand in support of Gaza, expressing backing for the revolutionary leadership and the Yemeni Armed Forces’ operations against the Israeli occupation.
