Liverpool – SABA:
Liverpool Football Club announced on Monday the signing of 17-year-old striker Will Wright from Salford City, as part of the club’s ongoing strategy to strengthen its ranks with promising young talent.
In a statement published on its official website, the club confirmed that Wright joins after making several first-team appearances for Salford City during the 2024/25 season. His debut came in November last year in the EFL Trophy against Wolverhampton Wanderers U21s. He also featured in the FA Cup and played two matches in League Two.
Liverpool noted that Wright officially joined the club’s U21 squad last week under coach Rob Page and made his first appearance on Saturday, playing the final 30 minutes in a goalless draw against Hull City.
The signing of Wright aligns with Liverpool’s broader youth development strategy, which focuses on identifying and nurturing high-potential players to prepare them for future roles in the first team.
