Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to convene an emergency meeting to address the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.
According to Iran's Tasnim News Agency on Thursday, Araqchi sent a letter to OIC Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha, as well as to Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan. In the letter, he urged the organization to hold an urgent meeting to discuss the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, coordinate the delivery of emergency aid, and examine the legal and political implications of the Zionist entity’s intention to permanently occupy the territory.
Araghchi described the situation in Gaza as “catastrophic” and reiterated the need for immediate OIC action to support the Palestinian people.
