President  addresses Yemeni people on Independence day

President  addresses Yemeni people on Independence day
[30/November/2020]

SANA'A, Nov. 30 (Saba) – President of the Supreme Political Council (SPC) Mahdi al-Mashat addressed on Sunday Yemeni people on the occasion of the 53rd anniversary of Independence Day that falls on November 30th each year.

We and all honorable people have the right to celebrate this glorious occasion because we are in the same trench where our fathers were against foreign colonialism, the President said.

Al-Mashat added the independence offers a lesson to aggressors against our country and puts it in the face of the scourge of this war, as it depicts the last scene for every mercenary.

He affirmed that November 30th reveals the eternal historical and symbolic merit of all the heroes who, today, defend their homeland, their people, and their cause.

The aggressors must stop their aggression and occupation, the President said, adding if they thought about continuing, they would eventually come out worse.

He clarified that one of the features of November 30th is that it distinguishes between true and false patriotism that clearly reveals traitors and aggression tools.

The President affirmed his keenness on a just and realistic peace that would ensure the cessation of aggression, lift the all-out siege, control resources, resume salary payments, and complete release of prisoners.

The president congratulated returnees to the homeland's ranks, calling on those who are staying in the aggression camps to return home.

He renewed his support for the UN envoy’s efforts in Yemen and the openness to all efforts and endeavors aimed at stopping the aggressive war and address its effects.
