SANA'A, Dec. 22 (Saba) - Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Development Dr. Hussein Maqbouli on Tuesday said that the state’s orientation in 2021 would be towards the development and modernization in the areas of economic return, including ports.
This came during his chairing a meeting held to discuss work priorities for 2021, according to the directives of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council, which include activating training and qualification programs, automation, legislation and regulations.
In the meeting, the Board of Directors of the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation reviewed the mechanism for developing the corporation’s work during the next year in accordance with the second phase of the national vision.
The meeting touched on the Corporation’s achievements during the current year in developing Hodeida port, especially after it was destroyed by Saudi-led coalition airstrikes, despite the scarce capabilities, in order to qualify it to receive relief and humanitarian aid ships.
In turn, Minister of Transport Zakaria al-Shami emphasized keenness to develop and strengthen Yemeni ports, in line with the strategy that these ports represent as an important economic tributary.
