SANA'A January 03.2023 (Saba) - The Council of Ministers discussed in its periodic meeting on Tuesday, chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor, the developments on the military side and the internal situation.

The Cabinet reviewed the internal developments in light of the recent escalation of the aggression coalition in Saada province and the northern border regions, in conjunction with its continued malicious attempts to undermine the cohesion of the home front and internal security in the capital, Sanaa, and the free provinces.

In this regard, the Council listened to the report of the Minister of Defense, Major General Muhammad Nasser Al-Atefi, on developments on the military side. The Defense Minister explained that the aggression coalition is escalating its hostilities towards the Yemeni people in conjunction with the continuation of the blockade.

Major General Al-Atifi stressed that "the Yemeni army will continue to rely on the principle of effective strategic deterrence until the aggressors understand that Sanaa will not compromise on the rights of the Yemeni people and will work to extract them if necessary."

The Minister of Defensewarned the enemy that continuing to play with the humanitarian file would lead the entire region to the brink of disaster. He praised the great efforts made by the leadership in Sana'a to pave the way for regional and international peaceful efforts to end the aggression and siege and its humanitarian conditions that express the popular demands, which it presented to proceed in the process of making a just and honorable peace.

In its meeting, the Cabinet condemned the escalation of the Saudi aggression in the northern border districts, which resulted in the death of hundreds and the injury of thousands during the current period of calm.

The Cabinet considered the escalation a dangerous indication of the aggressor's premeditated intentions to exploit the period of calm to rearrange his cards, stressing that Sana'a, which is keen on the success of the current Omani mediation efforts in an effort to alleviate the grave suffering of the Yemeni people because of the aggression and blockade, it at the same time has the full right to deal with any escalatory actions, and it possesses what enable it to deter the aggressors in their strategic depth.

The Council of Ministers condemned the agreement signed between the representative of the so-called "Transitional Council" in the government of the agents of the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression coalition and occupation and a fictitious Emirati company to exploit the fish port of Qishn to plunder mineral resources, within the framework of the occupation’s endeavor to control all Yemeni ports in the eastern and southern coastal strip and part of the western one and harness them to serve its political and economic interests and harm the national security of the Republic of Yemen.

In its meeting, the Council of Ministers approved the National Strategy for Cybersecurity 1444-1446 AH, stressing that the technical and electronic sector should start implementing the strategy in coordination with the relevant authorities.

The strategy presented by the Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology, Eng. Misfer Al-Numeir, aims to achieve a set of goals, including building a flexible legislative system for cybersecurity, developing a protection system for infrastructure and responding to cyber incidents, as well as encouraging scientific research, innovation and investment in this field.

The Council also approved a draft guideline for developing services and simplifying procedures submitted by the Minister of Civil Service and Insurance, Salim Al-Mughlis.
