SANA'A March 07. 2023 (Saba)- His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, Head of the Supreme Political Council, met on Tuesday with Minister of Tourism Ahmed bin Al-Hassan Al-Amir.
During the meeting, they discussed the difficulties and challenges that faced tourism in various stages, especially the stage of the US-Saudi aggression that sought to destroy it, and the available solutions to address these difficulties and challenges.
President Al-Mashat indicated that tourism represents an important economic tributary for the country, and domestic tourism constitutes more than 80 percent.
He stressed that the brutal US-Saudi aggression destroyed many historical and archaeological areas in Yemen, which were a destination for internal and external tourists.
President Al-Mashat said, "The aggression countries, which lack archaeological areas, have deliberately targeted many archaeological and historical sites in Old Sana'a, Shibam, Sa'ada, Taiz and other areas."
President Al-Mashat directed the Ministry of Tourism to pay attention to public parks that represent outlets for citizens, stressing the importance of developing and modernizing the tourism sector in various provinces according to the possible and available.
