Hodeida - Saba:
Hodeida governor Abdullah Atfi and Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Nasher al-Qoud on Monday inaugurated a free three-day medical camp dedicated to treating skin diseases.
Organized by al-Thawra General Hospital Authority in Hodeida, the camp features a select group of specialists and consultants providing free medical services and dispensing available medications at no cost.
Following the inauguration, Atfi and al-Qoud, along with hospital authority's head Dr. Khaled Suhail, inspected the camp's facilities and the services being offered to patients.
Governor Atfi affirmed the province's full support for such free medical initiatives and praised the infrastructure and equipment advancements within the hospital and its various clinics and departments.
Deputy Minister Dr. al-Qaoud commended the Hospital Authority's efforts in implementing these camps, highlighting their role in promoting solidarity, particularly given the country's current circumstances and their impact on vulnerable populations.
Dr. Suhail emphasized the Hospital Authority's commitment to improving medical services by developing infrastructure, reducing waiting times, and enhancing specialized clinics.
He noted the dermatology department's increased capacity and the introduction of advanced treatment technologies. He stated that the camp, targeting residents of Hodeida and surrounding areas, would significantly alleviate patient suffering, with approximately 400 cases received on its opening day.
In a related development, Governor Otayfi also reviewed the progress of work at the Authority's Prosthetic Limbs and Orthotic Devices Center, praising its equipment and the range of services it provides in limb fitting, rehabilitation, and the provision of assistive devices.
