SANA'A July 15. 2023 (Saba)-His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, Head of the Supreme Political Council, met today with Member of the Supreme Political Council, Muhammad Al-Nuaimi, Minister of Agriculture, Engineer Abdul-Malik Al-Thawr, and his deputy, Dr. Radwan Al-Rubai.
During the meeting, which was attended by the Secretary-General of the Supreme Political Council, Dr. Yasser Al-Houri, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Daifallah Shamlan, and the Executive Director of the Bonyan Foundation, Dr. Muhammad Al-Madani, they discussed aspects related to the agricultural sector, its advancement and the difficulties facing it.
The meeting touched on plans and programs to enhance the role of the agricultural sector in the field of food security, in order to achieve self-sufficiency.
President Al-Mashat listened to a report from the Ministry of Agriculture and the Higher Agricultural and Fisheries Committee, the role of the Bonyan Foundation and its contribution to agricultural development programs.
His Excellency the President praised the efforts made by everyone, pointing to the importance of integration with the local authorities in the provinces and districts, exploiting all available capabilities, ensuring good planning, financing, implementation, evaluation, and correcting any errors from the field reality.
He stressed the importance of proceeding with the path of advancing the agricultural sector, cooperation and integration between relevant institutions and authorities, and keenness to consolidate institutional work to make this path a success, whether in preparing plans or during their implementation.
President Al-Mashat stressed the need to pay attention to the construction of dams, barriers, water caravans, awareness and guidance for farmers, in a way that contributes to improving and raising production.
He also urged attention to agricultural marketing and extension, finding scientific ,practical solutions and mechanisms, and the necessary infrastructure for marketing, storing, exporting agricultural products, stressing the need to mobilize the societal role to contribute to achieving development.
