SANA'A December 14. 2023 (Saba)-Member of the Supreme Political Council, Muhammad Ali Al-Houthi, affirmed the Republic of Yemen’s keenness to continue the international trade movement through the Red , Arab seas and Bab al-Mandab, with the exception of the ships of the Israeli enemy entity.
Al-Houthi said during his meeting with the official spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, today,Thursday, “Bab al-Mandab is safe for international trade movement, with the exception of the Zionist enemy’s ships or those sailing to and from its ports, until the aggression against the Palestinians in Gaza stops ,their food and medicine needs are brought in.” .
He denied what some international media reported about the Yemeni armed forces preventing the passage of international trade ships through Bab al-Mandab. He said, “What is said about preventing international trade ships from passing through Bab al-Mandab Strait is just baseless exaggeration. The Republic of Yemen is keen on the continuation of international trade movement.”
The senior political member pointed out that the statements of the Yemeni Armed Forces clearly specified the ships prohibited from passing, “ships of the Zionist enemy entity, ships heading to it of any nationality, and stipulated that it should continue to prevent the entry of food and medicine needs into Gaza Strip.”
