WASHINGTON February 08. 2024 (Saba) - A report by the American Heritage Foundation has revealed a deficiency in the capabilities of the US army at a time when the United States is suffering from a “leadership crisis” deepened by the presence of Joe Biden as president of the States in light of the demand for new leadership.
The report stated that the lack of capabilities makes the US military forces weaker today than ever before, since the publication of this annual report ten years ago, pointing out that this decline in military power reveals a deeper leadership crisis.
It attributed the state of decline to reasons that it considered the most prominent of “the American elite’s abandonment of an entire generation of young people,” noting that this elite “is now wondering why these young people do not want to make the ultimate sacrifice.”
In this context, the Heritage Foundation said in its report that “the first step towards Washington reasserting itself on the world stage is for ordinary Americans to reassert themselves in the corridors of power and demand new leadership.”
The Foundation recalled the speech of US President Joe Biden, which he had delivered earlier in Pennsylvania, pointing out that it was the same location where the first President of the United States, George Washington, and his depleted band of soldiers suffered from famine and extreme cold in the winter of 1777- 1778, with the aim of indicating the centrality and fate of the presidential elections that will be witnessed next winter.
The report added the location of Biden's speech was "another reminder of how weak the US military has become under his leadership," as Americans believe that the elections "will not be about the abstract concept of democracy, but rather will be about Biden's record as president."
According to the report, “the United States’ enemies have become stronger during this decade of decline.” While “American political leaders have squandered Washington’s power on endless wars in the Middle East, its primary adversary, the Chinese Communist Party, has expanded its capabilities. It is now it is about to impose its hegemony on the Indo-Pacific region.”
The report continued this crisis “requires a true statesman who has sufficient mental fortitude, wise strategy, and decisive action demonstrated by General Washington at Valley Forge - the place where the American Continental Army camped during the winter of 1777-1778 -,” but, in the words he put it mildly, “Joe Biden is not George Washington, and US Secretary of War Lloyd Austin is not Revolutionary War military officer Nathaniel Greene.
