A Palestinian youth was critically injured by live Israeli gunfire during violent clashes that erupted Friday evening in the town of Sinjil, northeast of Ramallah, as tensions escalated over settler incursions into the southern area of Jabal al-Tal.
Israeli forces opened fire on Palestinian youths who were confronting armed settlers attempting to storm Jabal al-Tal. The victim was shot in the chest and transported to Salfit Government Hospital in serious condition.
Palestinians set fire to tires and blocked roads to prevent settlers from advancing toward residential areas.
Dozens of settlers renewed their incursions into Jabal al-Tal, part of a coordinated escalation that included:
- Burning agricultural structures and livestock barns.
- Stealing sheep and erecting an illegal settlement outpost.
- This follows the killing of Wael Bassem Ghafri (48) earlier this week during similar raids.
