MOSCOW July 07. 2024 (Saba) - The Russian Defense Ministry has reported the successful liberation of Sokol town in Donetsk, along with the elimination of 2,050 Ukrainian military personnel and the interception of dozens of missiles launched by Kiev forces within a 24-hour period.
According to a statement quoted on Russia Today's website, the ministry detailed the progress of ongoing military operations in Ukraine. Northern forces bolstered their positions and thwarted five enemy attacks, resulting in 210 enemy casualties including one tank, and the destruction of Western artillery and machinery.
Meanwhile, Western troops fortified their positions in Kharkov and Donetsk provinces, repelling two attacks and inflicting 540 enemy casualties. They also destroyed multiple enemy artillery pieces, weapons, machinery, three ammunition depots, and three electronic stations.
Southern forces improved their defensive positions, causing 650 enemy casualties and destroying enemy artillery, an electronic warfare station, vehicles, and seven ammunition depots.
Central forces, after liberating Sokol town in Donetsk, repelled five attacks and inflicted 415 enemy casualties, including the destruction of armored vehicles such as American Bradleys, along with Western machinery and artillery.
Eastern forces strengthened their positions and repelled a hostile attack, resulting in 115 enemy casualties and the destruction of enemy artillery and machinery.
Troops in the Dnieper region inflicted significant losses on the Ukrainian army in Kherson and Zaporozhye provinces, causing 120 enemy casualties and destroying enemy machinery, artillery, an ammunition depot, and an electronic station.
The Ministry further reported the destruction of lighting and guidance radars, two S-300 platforms, an oil refinery, a fuel depot, an arms depot, and an airstrip for unmanned aerial vehicles. Additionally, 55 Ukrainian missiles were intercepted, including Storm Shadow and harm missiles, along with three American humars and a guided bomb "hammer."
