SANA'A July 13. 2024 (Saba) - The Yemeni Honey Unit in the Supreme Agricultural , Fisheries Committee and the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation intend to hold the National Festival of Yemeni Honey and Bee Products “Season Three” with community contributions at the beginning of next August in Al-Sabeen Park in Capital Secretariat.
The festival, which lasts for six days, aims to promote Yemeni honey, revive its position in international forums, and advance the marketing of Yemeni brands of this cash crop globally, in addition to enhancing its role in economic growth and bringing its products to self-sufficiency.
Festival Preparatory Committee pointed out that the festival seeks to preserve the historical legacy of Yemeni honey production and marketing, in addition to including honey producers in associations and honey marketers in specialized companies.
It noted the wide participation that the festival will enjoy from honey associations and producers from a number of provinces, beekeepers and honey marketers from Hadhramaut and Shabwa provinces.
The focus will be on raising awareness of the keeping up importance with developments and modern technology in the production and marketing of Yemeni honey, in addition to constantly keeping up with , promoting this product, and raising awareness of the necessity of consuming local honey within the daily dietary pattern of society.
The preparatory committee considered the festival an opportunity to develop the honey sector, and to support the Yemeni economy by spreading the culture of the product, marketing and promoting it, calling on honey merchants, government institutions, commercial companies, producers , marketers of Yemeni honey, and all members of society, to actively participate in the festival’s activities.
