TEHRAN July 17. 2024 (Saba) - Iran has denied alleged reports in an American media about Tehran's role in the assassination attempt against former US President Donald Trump.
Last night, Tasnim International News Agency quoted Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani as denying alleged reports in an American media outlet about Iran's role in the recent armed attack on former US President Donald Trump.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman confirmed that the Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to prosecute Trump because of his direct role in the assassination of General Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force of the Revolutionary Guard, but it strongly rejects any interference in the recent armed attack on Trump or allegations about Iran’s attempt to carry out such an act.
These allegations are considered to have biased political goals and motives.
The representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the United Nations announced, following some alleged reports about Iran’s role in the attempted assassination of former US President Donald Trump, that these accusations are baseless and tendentious.
The Islamic Republic of Iran’s representation to the United Nations in New York said on Tuesday, local time, in response to the alleged reports about Iran’s role in Trump’s assassination: These accusations are tendentious and baseless.
From the point of view of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Trump is a criminal who must be tried and punished in court because he ordered the assassination of Commander Qassem Soleimani, It added.
Iran chose the legal path to hold him accountable, it continued.
It is noteworthy that the American television channel CNN claimed on Tuesday that the country’s intelligence service had discovered a possible plan by Iran to kill the country’s former president.
