GAZA July 18. 2024 (Saba) - Hamas has denounced the Israeli Knesset's decision rejecting the establishment of a Palestinian state, calling it invalid and a defiance of the international community.
In a statement released Thursday, Hamas described the decision as a reaffirmation of Zionist policies that deny the rights of the Palestinian people and their right to self-determination, as guaranteed by international law.
Hamas stated that the "rude decision" is a message of defiance to the international community and a blatant disregard for United Nations General Assembly resolutions supporting Palestine's full membership in the UN. The group urged for serious international action to halt these measures and ensure the Palestinian people have access to all their rights.
The statement emphasized that the Palestinian people would continue their resistance and legitimate defense against what Hamas termed the "fascist warfare" waged by the Israeli government, which threatens Palestinian national identity.
Early Thursday, the General Authority of the Knesset approved a draft resolution confirming the parliament's stance against the establishment of a Palestinian state.
