CAPITALS August 12. 2024 (Saba) - France, Germany and Britain welcomed, on Monday, the resumption and return of ceasefire negotiations in Gaza between the Zionist enemy and the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas at United States, Egypt and Qatar invitation on August 15.
The three countries expressed, in a joint statement, their support for the "tireless work" carried out by mediators in Qatar, Egypt and the United States, in order to reach an agreement on a ceasefire and the release of the Zionist hostages.
The statement read: "We support the statement issued by prince of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, and US President Joe Biden, calling for the immediate negotiations resumption."
"We agree that there can be no further delay, we have worked with all parties to prevent escalation , will spare no effort to reduce tensions and find a path to stability," he added, stressing that the fighting in the Strip "must end now."
The three countries also expressed their "deep concern" about the growing tensions in the region, and their commitment to de-escalation and regional stability, calling on Iran and its allies to refrain from attacks that would "further escalate regional tensions , jeopardize the opportunity to agree on a ceasefire and release the hostages."
Last week, the leaders of the United States, Egypt and Qatar invited Israel and Hamas to meet for negotiations on August 15, either in Cairo or Doha, to finalize a ceasefire agreement in Gaza and release the hostages.
