TAIZ August 25. 2024 (Saba) - A meeting of Local Corporation for Water and Sanitation Board of Directors in Taiz Province, headed by Acting Governor Ahmed Amin Al-Masawi, discussed the work progress in the corporation and the water and sanitation provision services level to citizens.

The meeting, which was attended by the Secretary-General of the Province Local Corporation , Muhammad Ahmed Al-Hajj, and the Deputy Governor, Abdul-Wahhab Al-Junaid, reviewed the corporation's performance report during the fourth quarter of the year 1445 AH regarding its tasks, plans, programs, the most prominent key performance indicators, and the quantities of water produced.

The Corporation Director General , Mohammed Ibrahim, explained that the quantities of water produced during the past year amounted to 388,549 cubic meters, of which 3,620 cubic meters were sold, with a loss rate in the distribution network of 64 percent and a coverage rate of 24 percent for the population benefiting from water, as well as sanitation services at a rate of 16 percent in the directorates of Taiziyah and Sala.

In the meeting, Al-Masawi directed to increase the number of subscribers to nine thousand and 500 subscribers, stressing the importance of doubling efforts to serve citizens and reduce losses.

He stressed the need to work on re-operating the stopped water wells according to a specific timetable and to pay attention to the Corporation's cadres , qualify them technically and administratively.
