SANA'A - SABA: The General Corporation for Grain Development and Production has organized a workshop aimed at introducing the wheat cultivation mechanism in Jawf province for the 2024-2025 agricultural season.
This event gathered fifty investors, districts, coordinators, and farmers.
The workshop outlined the seed distribution strategy to ensure timely planting of wheat, promoting optimal productivity and competitive investment in grain production.
The Corporation plans to provide 99.8% pure seeds to investors, enhancing the investment climate for grain cultivation.
- Importance of Workshop: Eng. Salah al-Mashriqi, Acting Executive Director General, emphasized the workshop's role in organizing seed multiplication and meeting the needs of farmers and investors.
- Contracts for Seed Production: The Corporation aims to sign contracts with 52 investors and government farms to produce high-quality seeds.
- Quality Assurance: al-Mashriqi noted the establishment of standards for seed purchasing, ensuring thorough monitoring and evaluation processes.
Goals and Expansion:
- The workshop aims to enhance networking among producers and investors, sharing best practices and information beneficial for the local agricultural community.
- The upcoming season will expand seed production from 1,000 hectares to 1,500 hectares, with expectations to increase seed production from 3,000 tons to 4,500 tons.
Attendees included Dr. Mutahhar al-Khaishani, Director General of the Seed Multiplication Project, and other officials, marking this workshop as a pioneering effort in the governorate to boost wheat cultivation.
