Beirut - Saba : Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reiterated his country's support for Lebanon and Hezbollah in confronting the Zionist aggression.
"Tehran has been and remains supportive of Lebanon, has been and remains supportive of the Lebanese, has been and remains supportive of Hezbollah, and it was necessary for me to say this in person," the Lebanese National News Agency quoted Araghchi as saying after meeting Friday in Beirut with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.
"We have confidence that the Lebanese people will emerge victorious," the Iranian foreign minister said, stressing his confidence that the Zionist enemy's crimes will fail.
"If the Zionist side takes any action against us, we will respond to it, and our response will be proportional and fully considered," Araghchi added.
The Iranian foreign minister noted that "consultations are continuing for a ceasefire on the condition that the rights of the Lebanese people are respected."
Earlier today, Araghchi arrived in the Lebanese capital Beirut on a visit of solidarity with Lebanon.
