Iraq renewed today its demand to stop the Zionist aggression targeting civilians and infrastructure in Lebanon, stressing Iraq's solidarity with the brothers in Lebanon against the continuation of this aggression.
In a statement carried by the Iraqi News Agency, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the Zionist attack on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), which resulted in the injury of several peacekeepers, explaining that "this aggression committed by the occupation forces constitutes a flagrant violation of the provisions of humanitarian and international law, and undermines international efforts aimed at achieving security and stability in the region."
The statement stressed "the importance of providing full protection to all peacekeepers, especially under these extremely difficult circumstances," calling on "the international community to fulfill its responsibilities to ensure respect for international law, protect these forces, and prevent the recurrence of such attacks."
