The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has praised the shooting operation near the occupied city of Ashdod, which resulted in the killed of an Israeli soldier and injuries to five others on Tuesday afternoon.
Hamas emphasized that this incident underscores the ongoing and escalating nature of resistance actions despite heightened security measures.
In a statement, Hamas described the shooting as a natural response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, including starvation and civilian massacres, particularly in the northern Gaza Strip. It condemned the Israeli actions in the West Bank and across various conflict zones.
While mourning the perpetrator of the attack, Hamas characterized such operations as necessary responses to the continuous violence, siege, and oppression faced by the Palestinian people. The movement stated that the Ashdod operation represents a significant addition to the record of resistance against Israeli aggression, reaffirming that such atrocities will be met with further retaliation.
Hamas highlighted the operation as evidence of the resistance's capability to inflict damage on Israeli forces and to counteract efforts aimed at suppressing Palestinian resistance and isolating the population.
The organization called for intensified operations targeting Israeli forces and for greater unity and determination in the fight against occupation, urging all fronts of resistance to ignite until aggression ceases and occupation is defeated.
The shooting incident in Ashdod resulted in the killed of one Israeli police officer and injuries to five Israeli settlers before the attacker was killed.
