Sana'a - Saba:

The branch of the Public Authority for Rural Water Projects and the branch of the Yemeni Red Crescent Society in Sana'a Governorate today received the project to rehabilitate the water project in the Beit Na'ama area, in the Bani Matar Directorate, from the executing contractor.

The project included the supply and installation of a solar-powered pumping system, the construction of a 100 cubic meter reinforced concrete water tank, and the supply of pumping and distribution lines with accessories.

During the handover, the Director of the Rural Water Authority branch, Engineer Yahya Al-Shahari, emphasized that the rehabilitation of the water project reflects the directives and interests of the Revolutionary Leadership and the Supreme Political Council, as well as the leadership of the Governorate and the Authority, in providing water services in rural areas.

He pointed out that the project, which cost $67,000, funded by the European Union for Humanitarian Aid and the German Red Cross, as part of the activities of the Experimental Program Partnership (PPP) project, serves several rural villages in the region.

He praised the efforts of the Yemeni Red Crescent Society in the Governorate in financing and implementing water sector projects in the Governorate, noting the humanitarian role of the Red Crescent in serving the segments of society, which overall aim to alleviate humanitarian suffering in all districts of the Governorate.

As explained by the director of the Red Crescent branch in the governorate, Hussein Al-Taweel, this project represents one of the projects implemented by the association, funded by partners of humanitarian work in the European Union for humanitarian aid, and the German Red Cross, in coordination with the Rural Water Office in the governorate.

He appreciated the efforts of the Rural Water Authority branch and its role in overcoming difficulties and completing the work on the project within the specified period, according to the engineering and technical specifications and standards.

In turn, the project coordinator, Faris Al-Naqib, indicated that the goal of the project is to reduce the operating expenses of citizens and ensure the availability of sufficient water to the target area easily.

The head of the project beneficiary committee in the region, Faraj Al-Fallahi, explained that the project serves more than 3,590 beneficiaries from the villages of Al-Manasim, Al-Kharaba, Al-Anab, Al-Asha, and Beit Na'ama.
