Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Jamal Amer met on Sunday with UN Women representative in Sana'a Dina Zorba.
During the meeting, Minister Amer explained that Sana'a is open to strengthening relations with the United Nations and international organizations, including UN Women.
He said, "What Sana'a does not accept is for the United Nations and its organizations to become a tool of political pressure from the United States of America."
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates called on UN Women to work on preparing an action plan for the coming period that focuses on projects to empower women economically in light of the humanitarian conditions they are experiencing in Yemen, especially since Yemeni women are among the most severe victims of aggression and comprehensive siege.
In turn, the UN Women representative in Sana'a explained that the UN Women office works within the framework of humanitarian and relief work, which is part of the United Nations Humanitarian Response Plan.
