Iran has called on the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) to investigate the crimes of the Zionist entity in terms of prohibited weapons, especially chemical weapons, in Palestine and Lebanon.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi called during his meeting today with the Director General of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, Fernando Arias, according to the Iranian news agency, IRNA to pressure the Zionist entity to join the Chemical Weapons Convention and monitor its chemical facilities.
He stressed the importance of full and effective implementation of all provisions of the Convention, including the promotion of international cooperation for the peaceful uses of chemical materials, equipment, and technologies.
For his part, Arias expressed appreciation for the active participation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the meetings and discussions of the OIC, while the two sides exchanged views on areas of strengthening cooperation between Iran and the OIC.
