Sana'a - Saba:

A scientific and honorary event was held in the capital Sana'a to honor professors, trainers, top students, graduates of the Yemeni and Arab fellowship programs, and those who earned specialty certificates in dermatology and venereology.

The event, organized by the Scientific Council for Dermatology and Venereology in cooperation with the Saudi German Hospital, discussed several working papers on the latest scientific developments in dermatology, venereology, and cosmetics, focusing on both diagnostic methods and treatments.

During the event, Deputy Speaker of the parliament Abdulsalam Hashoul highlighted the scientific progress Yemen has witnessed in various medical fields, including dermatology and venereology, due to their importance in improving services for citizens.

He stated, "The aggression aimed to end science in Yemen, but thanks to God and the efforts of national figures, we overcame these challenges. There has been progress in various scientific and medical fields, and Yemen has hosted numerous seminars and conferences to explore new developments in various specialties."

He added, "Thanks to God, and the guidance of the leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, and the Supreme Political Council, the Yemeni people have been able to rise and stay up to date with advances in all fields," acknowledging the efforts of all those involved in the scientific advancement of dermatology.

Hashoul encouraged the continued organization of such conferences to discuss research, practical working papers, and medical developments, and congratulated the graduates and honorees for achieving advanced ranks.

Dr. Mujahid Measar, head of the Medical Council, praised the ongoing scientific events, conferences, and seminars organized by medical associations in Yemen, despite the challenging circumstances faced by the country.

He explained that the health sector has remained active during the period of aggression and blockade, providing exceptional services across various medical specialties, and regularly hosting specialized scientific conferences.

Dr. Ali Jahaf, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Environment, emphasized the commitment to continue advancing scientific and medical knowledge to improve health indicators. He stressed the importance of such events to exchange expertise and further develop scientific specialties in dermatology.

Dr. Mutia Abu Areij, Assistant Secretary-General of the Yemeni Council for Medical Specialties, presented the objectives and agenda of the scientific event, noting that the papers addressed the latest advancements in dermatology and venereology.

He emphasized the scientific revolution in dermatology and venereology, particularly in the fields of diagnosis and medicines, with a focus on biological treatments for chronic skin diseases, which have contributed to the treatment of many conditions.

The Medical Director of the Saudi German Hospital highlighted the significance of the event in facilitating the exchange of practical experiences and sharing the latest advancements in dermatology, venereology, cosmetics, and related fields.

Following the opening session, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abdul Salam Hashoul, the Minister of Health and Environment, Dr. Ali Shaiban, and the Chairman of the Medical Council, Dr. Mujahid Masar, were honored with shields from the Scientific Council for their contributions to dermatology and venereology.
