The office of the General Authority for Zakat in Hodeida province held a workshop for zakat trustees in Beit Al-Faqih district, coinciding with the grain harvest season and arranging for the collection of in-kind zakat, ensuring its distribution and fair delivery to the beneficiaries.
The workshop aimed to familiarize the trustees with the tasks and mechanisms of recording the data of crops and fruits during the harvest, preparing reports that help the Zakat Commission to evaluate the harvest, and the mechanism of disbursing the collected in-kind grain zakat to the poor beneficiaries in the directorate.
Al-Saqqaf pointed to the qualities that the trustee should possess, such as honesty, integrity and piety, explaining that achieving the desired goals in serving the needy requires the presence of sincere and highly competent zakat trustees.
For his part, the director of the authority's office in the province, Mohammed Ahmed Hazza, said that the new mechanism for collecting zakat in kind will organize the process of distributing it, while emphasizing the role of the agricultural secretary in integrating services at the level of each isolated area.
He pointed out that Beit al-Faqih district is one of the largest districts in Hodeida, which calls for strengthening cooperation between those concerned to serve the poor and needy, stressing the need to enhance efforts to achieve the desired benefit.
