Gaza - Saba:
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) revealed today, Monday, that baby milk supplies are about to run out in the Gaza Strip, stressing that this shortage in supplies puts the lives of infants at risk.
UNRWA said that only six boxes remain to be distributed in Gaza, while about 8,500 infants in the Strip depend on them to obtain milk, explaining that the remaining quantity was from a batch it received three months ago.
The agency stressed that the shortage in supplies puts the lives of infants and more than 200,000 people who depend on its services at risk in the Gaza Strip.
The relief agency indicated that about 19,000 children in the Strip were hospitalized due to severe malnutrition during the past four months, stressing that the number doubled at the beginning of this year.
