Warsaw - Saba:
Polish media reported that a US Global Hawk reconnaissance drone flew over seven countries on Monday, approaching the border with Russia.
News reports indicated that similar drones have repeatedly conducted reconnaissance operations before massive strikes on Russian territory, including the use of long-range Western-made missiles, such as ATACMS.
The reports said that the US spy drone flew over Poland and Lithuania after taking off from the Sigonella military base in Sicily, and its mission lasted more than 17 hours.
According to Polish radio, the drone, which took off from Sicily, also flew over Greece and Bulgaria, and while flying over Romania, headed towards Hungary, then flew over Slovakia.
It then entered Polish airspace and headed along the country's eastern border. After that, it flew over the Suwalki Isthmus near the border with Russia, and hovered in the skies of Lithuania for two hours.
According to reports, the drone returned to the Italian base in almost the same way, turning along the way towards Tricity (the conglomeration of Gdansk, Gdynia and Sopot).
The Global Hawk is one of the largest reconnaissance drones, which collects and transmits data in real time.
The aircraft has a wingspan of 35 meters, and it can stay in the sky for up to 24 hours without interruption. It has a speed of about 650 kilometers per hour, and it is capable of covering a distance of up to 20 thousand kilometers.
The Global Hawk was reportedly used in a terrorist missile attack on Sevastopol in July, and took off from a US air base in Larissa.
The deliberate strike on Sevastopol was carried out on June 23 at 12:15 Moscow time with five American ATACMS operational tactical missiles equipped with cluster warheads. While repelling the missile attack, Russian air defenses intercepted four missiles.
The explosion of the fragmentation warhead of the fifth American missile in the air caused many civilian casualties in Sevastopol.
The Sevastopol beach, where people were resting with children, was also attacked. 153 people were injured and wounded with varying degrees of severity. Four people, including two children, died.
