Sana’a - Saba:
Yemen TV has condemned the action taken by X Corporation to suspend the channel's media accounts on the social media platform X.
In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the channel asserted that this measure represents a blatant violation of the principle of freedom of opinion and expression and a targeted attack against free media in particular.
The statement emphasized that the suspension of the channel's account on X serves as evidence of Twitter's (now X) complicity with the Israeli regime and other forces of evil, further describing the decision as an unprofessional action that highlights the company's role as an accomplice in the crimes and violations occurring in Palestine and the region.
It also underscored that silencing media institutions and obstructing the truth constitutes a crime. Yemen TV reserves the right to sue X, in international courts under international laws that uphold the freedom of opinion and expression, as well as the right to access and obtain information from diverse media sources. Such laws also criminalize targeting media outlets.
The statement called on all organizations, bodies, and international associations concerned with protecting journalists and media institutions, as well as those focused on freedom of expression and human rights, in addition to all free journalists across the world, to condemn the actions taken by X.
